After your initial application with Madison Reed, you want to focus the application on your roots, which will be your natural color and grays. Your mid-shafts and ends tend to be more porous so the color will take to that portion of the hair rather quickly, for this reason, we suggest combing the color from your roots to your ends during last five minutes of processing. If your mid-shafts and ends are a desirable tone and depth you can skip adding more color to them completely. We suggest using the Madison Reed Color Reviving Gloss to refresh tone and shine on the lengths and ends of your hair.
Your best application will depend on how often you color your hair and if you are using the same shade as your currently color treated hair. Follow the instructions included in your kit or see additional information in our tutorial videos section to decide which application is right for you.
